So let's discuss:
1. The rich man's servant took many camels, gold nose ring, bracelet e.t.c along with him, in spite of that, he still had to pray 'oh Lord, give me success to
find a wife for Isaac'(Gen 24:24)
Lesson: Don't be so concern about the wealth, a rich man without God and a godly heritage is a capital NO.
2. Rebekah came out with her fetcher on her shoulders at the time young ladies go to the well(Gen 24:15), she was very beautiful to behold, a virgin ready to fetch water.
Lesson: Be with your essential instrument most of the
time, e.g. your bag, tissue papers, hand cream, charger (even a car charger), make-up e.t.c, because
you don't know who may need it so always be ready to meet the needs of others.
Lesson 2: If the bible could emphasise Rebekah's virginity, that means it is important to be a virgin or a secondary virgin as the case may be.
Lesson 3: Avoid procrastination, it kills opportunities. I pray God help us all.
3. Still on Genesis 24, now verse 21, ' and the man watched her without saying a word, remained silent so as to know whether the Lord has made his journey
prosperous.
Lesson: Be careful, people are watching; they are always watching you like a cloud of witnesses(LOL).
4. Gen 24:22-53 ,so when the Camels had finished
drinking, he gave her gold nose rings and bracelets, and went to meet her father, then the bride price was
paid at the introduction/ wedding ceremony.
Lesson1: Be happy to solve problems, help people, impact lives, be hospitable e.t.c. because God is the rewarder and he sees into the deepest heart of men.
Lesson 2: As far as the bride price is paid and you say ' I do', the wedding has taken place, every other celebration is a luxury.
5. Rebekah's family asked her, ' will you go with this man?' and she answered ' I will go', so they blessed
her and she left.
Lesson: If you say 'I DO' then do.
6. I like this part where Rebekah met Isaac, so romantic! (Gen 24:64-67), I actually can't think of a lesson from it. So I would to comment on the lessons that can be learnt from the love at first sight meeting
of Isaac and Rebekah.
