I was at a shopping mall yesterday and was about to check my balance at the ATM to know my spending status, meanwhile there was a guy in front of me, i saw him withdraw a lot of money and all of a sudden i saw him giving a bunch of clean N500 notes to a shabbily dressed person, who i figured was a beggar, i was so shocked to know a person would give a beggar so much money. my reaction to that was to ask the man, if today is christmas? and then asked for mine. he just smiled and walked away.
It got me thinking about the essence of Christmas, is it to buy chickens, fry and eat or to give gifts to people you know can afford it in view of the favor that would be returned in the next year. 1 Cor 13:13 " And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. The most important thing is LOVE, making another smile without expecting a return on investment, sharing, and laughter. check out the checklist below:
CHRISTMAS TO DO
1. GIVE GOD WHAT COST YOU SOMETHING.
2. MAKE THE LESS PRIVILEGED SMILE THIS CHRISTMAS
3. GIVE GIFTS WITHOUT EXPECTING ANYTHING IN RETURN
4. FORGIVE THE SINS OF OTHERS
5. LET JOY SPRING UP IN YOUR HEART WITH THANKSGIVING
6. SHARE YOUR TESTIMONY AND ENCOURAGE OTHERS
