The Kitchen Lady.

Jesus visited Mary and Martha, the story of the visitatio is narrated in Luke 10: 38-42; 'As Jesus and the disciples continued on their way to Jerusalem, they came to a certain village, where a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. Her sister, Mary, sat at the Lord’s feet, listening to what he taught. But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, doesn’t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.”

But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”
As women, it is very common and normal to be very particular about details and worried about being
hospitable and organised. We tend to organise even our wardrobe for everyday and every occasion for the next five weeks.

We welcome people into our homes and don't get to speak with them until they leave, we are too busy in the kitchen trying to prepare dinner for our guest and we expect all the female in the house to join us in the kitchen.

It is not bad to have a martha's heart, wanting to meet the stomach needs of people but a need supersedes all other needs (the soul's need, we feed it by the word of God), the one thing we should be concern about, one thing that is most important- is the
SALVATION of our soul. No one can take it away from us.

lets spend more time with christ than we spend in the kitchenm
