Yesterday, my mentor was talking about a young King named Josiah and I learnt so much from this young King, so I decided to share with us what I learnt.
After reading the passage, I wish that the way we search for Jobs, life partners, people on facebook, places, information e.t.c is close to the way we search for God hoping to find Him and being excited when we find Him; seeking him with a longing heart, with an urge to find him.
The bible talks about King Josiah, he was 8 years old when he became the king in jerusalem(pls, read 2 Chronicles 34). While, he was young he sought the God of his father David and he purge both Judah and Jerusalem of Idols.
God wants us to remember Him in the days of our youth, while we are still young and to seek him while He may be found by us. He has made a promise to us that if we seek him we will find him, when we seek
him with all our heart. God is ever willing to reveal himself to us even more than we are willing to know or find him. If we seek God, the same way we seek a job; we will be amazed at what we would find.
King Josiah sought the Lord, and as they were renovating the temple of the lord that has fallen, the BOOK OF THE LAW was found. The book of the law given to Joshua in Joshua 1:8, where he was asked to not to allow depart from his heart but to meditate on it day and night; this same book, which should have
being a daily reference, was missing for years, and
God was upset with his people for they were out of the path He laid out for them.
When we decide to seek God, we find him, he will show us his splendour, his ways, his kindness and his love. What a privilege to behold the beauty of the lord. The Psalmist says 'one thing I ask from the lord, that one thing I SEEK for, that I may dwell in the house of the lord forever, to gaze of the beauty of the lord FOREVER'.
I pray that this shall be our only desire, as we purge ourselves from all sins and rebuild the temple of the Lord in us, may we find him.
