First of all, I would like to say a very big happy birthday to Me, and a big THANK YOU to my God, my family and friends. I consider myself as a person who has enjoyed life to the fullest and taken all that has been offered and am grateful to God. If life was a dance, God has given me the strength to dance from the morning of my life till noon, I still have a long day to keep dancing, I pray my dance affect more lives from now till the evening of my life more than all it has from morning till noon, the desire to
so here I am, moving through the door of my life to step into a new year, with mixed feelings and so many questions on my mind, trying to find answers... clear answers; 'am I where am ought to be?' ' am I missing out on my role in the drama of life?' ' and where do I go from here?'.
In Psalm 90, the passage starts by glorifying God who Is our dwelling place for generations, the God who was in existence before we came into the picture and He will still be present when we are out of the picture and verse 4 says ' for a thousand years in your sight are like yesterday', it is so brief that it was described as a grass that blosoms in the morning and in the evening it whithers.
Verse 10 then says the days of our lives last between 70 and 80, it may look long but in a blink of an eye, it's all gone, so we need to ask God to 'teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom'.
MY REFLECTION
1. There is time for everything, time and season for every thing on the earth, as there is the dry season so is the. rainy season, for if we know what season it is for us, then we would know whether to plant crops or to harvest them.(Prov 3)
2. Counting our day is not only in the arithmetic or celebration of the length of our days but it is to know the brevity of our days, in order for us to make good use of the short 70 or 80 years we have to live.
3. Accountability is a product of wisdom and wisdom is the application of insight, knowing what to do and doing it. If the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom then doing his will, living for him and serving humanity, serving our family, lives, and in the society is the expression of wisdom.
My prayer request is to live a long productive life spent in wisdom.
