Show love and Know God

In this season of Christmas, we all plan to show some love; the banks give out gifts, business owners and service provides give discounts, individuals give out gifts to family members but at the end of the season it ends and God is telling us to live in love and acknowledgement to him.

Hosea 6:6 I want you to show love rather than offer sacrifice, I want you to know me rather than burnt offering'

Sacrifice is a physical thing, with the intention to please men or please God. It could be a self-righteous exhibition but it lacking content and real expression of love. The second phrase asked us to Know God rather than being religious, to be religious is to do things the way it has being handed down without understanding and with the absence of right values.

God is a spirit and if we need to worship Him, it has to be in spirit and in truth, true worship is all about asking questions, loving God and people, being obedient and giving. Going to church is inclusive but we must do it not out of compulsion but with total reverence to God and love to men.
